Hi there folks! Nice to see you - thanks for stopping by :)
We're an originals band from the UK (near to Bristol) comprising an awsome mix of old-hands / new-hands musical talent and with the main focus being centred on the songs of Mark Wilderspin, a singer-songwriter and 12-string guitarist from Stroud, Gloucestershire.
All the players are ex-UK and US chart band members and include Paul Bryant (Stretch), Tim Fish (Mud and The Glitter band), Charlie Hart (The Rollin' Clones) , Jules McNicholas, Robert Holmes ('Til Tuesday) and Pete Griffin (A 1000 Mexicans).
We were formed in mid 2010 and have since been recording our debut album 'Something To Crow About'.
The album is an eclectic mix of full-on rock (Full Moon and SomethingTo Crow About), laid back ballads with country and jazz overtones (Back To The Country, Sister Salvation, Wow) , sensitive slow pieces with almost classical touches (The Blue Sparkling Sea) and several that have a style all of their own (Beer Mats, Who'sThere?).
'Something To Crow About' should be ready by early spring 2012 both via MP3 download and CD.
You can hear a preview of where we're at with the recording process via several sample audio tracks under 'Audio / Video'.
If you wish to keep in touch with what's happening, please subscribe the newsletter or to our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WilderspinTheBand .
Robert Holmes of 80's US chart favourites 'til tuesday has added his electric guitar talents to several Wilderspin tracks including Full Moon, Something To Crow About, Watching Swans, Beer Mats, Back To The Country and Sister Salvation.

Mark Wilderspin gets Olympic call-up!
Mark Wilderspin was recently invited to add his voice to the second of Cadbury's motivational videos / TV ads that are being produced to help highlight and support several of the UK's top Olympians - in this case swimmer Rebecca Addlington.
The video is very clever and quirky and uses several actors filmed underwater dressed as stereotypical UK characters and mimimg to Tina Turners 'The Best' Mark helped to provide the underlying backing vocal at a session recorded at the famous Britannia Row studios in Wandsworth, London.
